WELL KNOWN WOMAN HAS PASSED AWAY

MRS. WILLIAM JOHNSTON, OF WILTON, SUCCUMBS

Was Well Known and Highly Respected Resident of Muscatine County

Has Friends Here.

Mrs. William Johnston, a well known and highly respected resident of Muscatine county for over fifty years, passed away at her home in East Wilton at 9:15 o'clock this morning, her death being due to the infirmities of old age.

Mrs. Johnston was born in Athens county, Ohio, Nov. 30, 1819, consequently had attained the age of 88 years, 2 months.

In 1855 they came to Muscatine county and resided on a farm until 1879 when they removed to Wilton and have resided here continuously since that time. Mr. Johnston passed away about ten years ago. Four daughters and two sons survived her. They are Mrs. W.G. Griffith, Mrs. H.C. Perry, and Miss Hattie Johnston, of Wilton, and Mrs. A.E. Ford, of Grinnell; Ed and Jeff Johnston, both of Ida Grove.
