Howard Hummel Taken By Death; Service Sunday

Nichols — Howard Royce Hummel, 46, died at 10:30 p. m., Friday at his home here after an illness of six weeks.
Mr. Hummel was born in Nichols on Sept. 14, 1898, the son of Frank C. and Nettie Mapes Hummel.
Surviving are one daughter, Norma, at home; one son, Ramon, a Seabee stationed in the western Pacific: his father, Frank Hummel of Nichols; three sisters Mrs. Paul Hesser, Burlington, Mrs. Elmer Poole and Mrs. Harold Wickey, both of Muscatine; one brother, Lloyd Hummel, Nichols.
Preceding him in death were his mother and one brother.
The body will be returned to the home tonight and funeral services are scheduled for 2 p. m Sunday at the Nichols Methodist church. The Kirchner Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
