Mrs. Kate Dunker, 70, of 121 Roscoe avenue, died at 7:20 p. m. Sunday at Bellevue hospital following an illness of about a year. Death was caused by complications.
Mrs. Dunker was born on May I, 1872 in Eckenforde, Germany. She came to America with her parents and settled in Columbus Junction in 1883. On Sept. 16, 1888, she married George Dunker in Muscatine, and the remainder of her life was spent as a resident of Muscatine. Her husband preceded her in death.
Mrs. Dunker was active in church and club affairs, being a member of the Grace Lutheran church, the Royal Neighbors lodge, the American Legion auxiliary and the Women's Relief Corps.
She is survived by a son, Mayor Raymond Dunker, of Muscatine; a daughter. Mrs. Jay Christensen of Grandview; two sisters, Mrs. Ben Rosche and Mrs. Will Blaesing, both of Davenport: and one brother, Theodore Soll, of Muscatine. Nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. Her parents, two brothers, two sisters and two sons, Louie and Roy, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m. Wednesday from the Ralph Wittich Funeral home with the Rev. Julius F. Holm, pastor of the Zion Lutheran church, in charge. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery.
