PROMINENT CIVIL WAR VETERAN PASSES AWAY.
Enlisted From Muscatine Where He Spent Early Youth—Is Well Remembered.
Word has reached Muscatine announcing the death of Thomas G. Beaham, an early resident of this city, and who enlisted in the Second Iowa Cavalry from Muscatine. Mr. Beaham passed away at Kansas City Saturday afternoon at his residence 2940 Troost avenue, after an illness of several months' duration. Mr. Beaham is particularly well remembered by the surviving members of the Second Iowa, and the boys in blue who were with General Gordon Granger, Maj. Beaham serving on Gen. Granger's staff for a considerable period. Following the war Maj, Beaham located at Cincinnati, O., and later removed to Kansas City, where he was very successful in business. He leaves to mourn his mother, Mrs. Harriett Beaham, 91 years of age, who resided with her son, and three children, Gordon T., Mary Edna and Helen, all of Kansas City.
