Mrs. Jarvis of Grandview Is Called in Death

Grandview — Mrs. Sadie C. Jarvis, lifelong resident of Louisa county, died at 2:30 p. m. Wednesday at the home of her son, Verne L. Jarvis, at West Liberty, after an extended illness.
The daughter of George and Margaret Treman Beik, she was born in Louisa county May 24, 1866, and was married to Jesse Jarvis on Sept. 16, 1886. His death occurred on Dec. 7, 1942.
Surviving are eight children, Fred of Rockford, Ill., Mrs. Hazel Hartsock of Columbus Junction, Mrs. Mabel Persinger of Wever, la., Gayle and Jesse Jarvis of Muscatine, Verne Jarvis of West Liberty, Mrs. Maggie Hammer and Lester Jarvis of Grandview. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Lola Dodder and Mrs. Lutie Paullins of Letts, Mrs. Mattie O'Dell of Fayette, Ia., and Mrs. Elma Shew of Grandview, and one brother, Hilton Beik of Montesano, Wash. Preceding her were her parents, two brothers, William and Dan Beik, and a sister, Elizabeth Beik, all of Grandview.
The funeral rites will be held at the Community church at Grandview at 2 p. m. Friday with the Rev. Caleb Larson in charge. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery in Muscatine. The Dudgeon Funeral home at Wapello is in charge of arrangements.
