Robert R. Phillips, 49, Rt. 6, died at 6:55 p.m. Saturday at Muscatine General Hospital, following a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home. Visitation started at 3 p.m. today and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Military rites will be held at graveside by a combined squad of American Legion, VFW and World War I Barracks.

Robert Phillips was born April 11, 1937, at Muscatine, the son of Harold and Edna Hysienger Phillips. He was a life resident of the city.

He married Delores Estabrook Sept. 22, 1954, at Muscatine. He was a member of the Methodist Church and was a veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Robert W., Timothy E. and Mark A., all of Muscatine; three daughters, Sandra E., Barbara A. and Angela K., all of Muscatine; one grandchild; his mother, Mrs. Edna Phillips of Muscatine; a brother, Allan R. of Muscatine; and a sister, Mrs. Helen Estabrook of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.
