Muscatine Journal, September 10, 1928

Mrs. Isaac Hoffman, 64, a native of Muscatine, but for the past 25 years a resident of Chicago, died at her home there Saturday evening at 9:00 after an illness of several months.

Jennie Block was born at Muscatine Jan. 21, 1864, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Block. She was a graduate of St. Mathias school and the Muscatine high school.

She was married to Isaac Hoffman at Muscatine Jan. 1, 1883. She left Muscatine soon after her marriage making her home in several cities until approximately 25 years ago when she moved to Chicago, where she resided until her death. Mr. Hoffman died in Chicago April, this year.

Surviving Mrs. Hoffman are one son, Harold, Chicago, and three sisters, Mrs. Frances Rosenbaum, county treasurer, Miss Ida Block 123 East Second street and Mrs. Howard M. Bartlett, 508 Chestnut street, Muscatine.

Funeral services are being held today at Chicago. Services will be held at the Fairbanks Home for Funerals in Muscatine at 3 o’clock on Tuesday afternoon by Rabbi Morton Berman, of Davenport. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
