Mrs. Sherman, 80, Dies in Illinois

Nichols — Mrs. Lillie Belle Sherman, 80, died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday at Plano, Ill., where she had lived for the past seven years. Death occurred at her home as a result of pneumonia that followed a heart illness.
The daughter of, Martha and Theodore Richarz, she was born Dec. 17, 1874, in Muscatine county. She spent, her childhood in Muscatine county and was married to James Lewis Sherman at Lincoln, Neb., in 1891.
Surviving is a son, Edward, Miami, Fla.; four daughters, Helen M. Crout, East St. Louis, Ill., Margaret and Edna Sherman, both of Plano, and Mary Sherman, Chicago; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Smith, Nichols, Mrs. Hallie R. Lawritzen, Park Forest, Ill., and
Mrs. Mabel Baker, Chicago; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, two brothers and one sister. The body is at the Snider funeral home in West Liberty where services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Gerald McCray, pastor of the Nichols Methodist church will officiate. Burial will be in the Nichols cemetery.
