Sandra Sue Laing, of Preston, died November 26, 1996, at the home of her daughter in Mount Vernon.

Funeral services were held November 30, 1996, at Pape Funeral Home, with Lyle Beaver officiating. Burial was at the Oakland Cemetery. Casket bearers were Ron Brick, Gary and David Risius, Eric Dethmann, Irv Hinz and Kenny Schippee.

Mrs. Laing was born August 19, 1939, in Des Moines, the daughter of Paul and Gladys Ganeo Walton. She graduated from Stewart High School, in Stewart. She married James Walker on August 9, 1958, in Stewart. She later married Larry D. Laing, on February 14, 1980, in West Liberty. She was a member of the Homemakers Club in Clinton County.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Cathy (Ralph) Jordan of Mount Vernon, Mrs. Connie (Gary) Young of Des Moines, and Cindee Walker of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Paula (Gary) Risius of Earlham. She was preceded in death by her parents.
