Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Voss, 80, died November 27, 1996, at Simpson Memorial Home, West Liberty, following a brief illness.
Services were held Monday, December 2, 1996, at the Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with the Rev. Norman Anderson officiating. Casket bearers were David Evans, Norman Gritton, Delbert Whitmer, Rodney Laucamp, Leland Gritton and Wayne Ahrens. Burial was at the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
Mrs. Voss was born July 6, 1916, in Cedar County, the daughter of Walter Henry and Anna Wilhelmina DeMean Osborn. She attended school in the Crees County School in Cedar County. She married John Carl Voss on February 23, 1934, in Rock Island, Illinois. She and her husband farmed south of Tipton. She was a member of the Rochester Methodist Church and enjoyed playing cards, bingo, going on trips and cooking.
Survivors include four sisters, Wilma Frick of Wilton, Loretta Whitmer (Moses) of Wilton, Gladys Ehlert (Elmer) of West Liberty, Evelyn Evans of Atalissa; and good friend Ed Metz of Muscatine. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; sister, Minnie Gritton; brother, Henry Osborn; and parents.
