Larry L. Reed, 62, of West Liberty, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2000, at Mercy Hospital.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the West Liberty United Methodist Church with the Rev. Frank Schulz officiating. Burial will be Friday in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington, Indiana. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the West Liberty Rescue Unit. The Barker Funeral Home in West Branch is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Reed was born July 11, 1938 in Danville, Ill., to Clyde and Aline (Jones) Reed. He graduated from Veedersburg, Indiana, High School in 1956. He graduated with a degree in agriculture from Purdue University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. He married Joyce Hickman on July 3, 1960, in Covington. He was employed with LiquiGrow Co. in sales and management for the past 23 years. He was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church and the Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter and her husband, Dawn and Wayne Vinkavich of New Lenox, Ill.; one son and his wife, Jeff and Sandra Reed of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; four grandchildren; one brother and his wife, Dale and Donna Reed of San Leandro, Calif.; his parents-in-law, Virgil and Wilma Hickman of Covington; a brother-in-law and his wife, Donald and Libby Hickman of Covington; two nephews; three nieces; four great-nephews; and three great-nieces. His parents died earlier.
