Atalissa – Wilbur “Bill” Goodale, 57. Of Route 1, Atalissa, died Wednesday evening, March 3, 1993, at his home following an extended illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the West Liberty Chapel of the Barker Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Hamel will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in West Liberty. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday. A memorial has been established.

Mr. Goodale was born in 1935 at Irma, Wis., the son of Ernest and Francis Shetler Goodale. On July 3, 1954, he was married at Muscatine to Bonnie J. Keith.

He was a carpenter all his life. In 1978 he founded the Goodale Construction Company in Atalissa. He had served for several years on the Atalissa City Council and was a former mayor of Atalissa.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; three daughters, Mrs. Phil (Peggy) McIntyre of West Liberty, and Mrs. Russell (Barbara) Van Dusen and Mrs. Roger (Sue) Griffith, both of Atalissa; three sons, Bill Goodale, Bob Goodale and Dean Goodale, all of Atalissa; four sisters, Carol Watson of Keithsburg, Ill., Mary Samuelson of Tipton, Lois Keith of West Liberty and Pat Rocha of Atalissa; one brother, Gary Goodale of Independence, Mo.; his mther, Frances Goodale of Atalissa, and 19 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and one grandson.
