Lester Jensen

Lester W. Jensen, 90, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty. Memorial service was Friday, April 29, at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Inurnment was in the North Prairie Cemetery.

He was born October 26, 1914, in Cedar County, the son of William F. and Mabel Schneider Jensen. He was a 1933 graduate of West Liberty High School.

On June 9, 1937, he was united in marriage to Louise Probst in West Liberty.

He had farmed near West Liberty and worked for Heinold Hog Buying Station in West Liberty for 13 years until his retirement. The couple spent winters for 20 years in Dade City, Florida. He was a member of the Muscatine Moose Lodge and the Elks.

He is survived by his wife, of West Liberty; two sons, Bill (Lois) Jensen of West Liberty and James (Cathy) Jensen of Branson, Missouri; one daughter, Carolea (Charles) Bowman of St. Michael, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Thompson.
