Darrell E. Martin died Friday, October 3, 1997, in the Blake Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida.

The National Cremation Society will organize a private burial service at a later date.

Mr. Martin was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on October 9, 1913, to Charles and Gladys Martin. He attended Coe college in Cedar Rapids, where he met Margaret R. Melick, daughter of H.B. and Helen Melick of West Liberty. The couple were married in the Christian Church in West Liberty on August 22, 1937.

Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Marsha (husband, Gerald) Chudzik of Elk Grove Villlage, Illinois; a brother-in-law H. Filmore Melick (wife, Marjorie) of West Liberty; and several nieces and nephews.
