Wilma M. Fick, age 85, of Wilton, Iowa, died on Friday, August 4, 2000, at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty, Iowa.
Wilma M. Osborn was born on November 8, 1914, to Walter and Anna (DeMean) Osborn in Cedar County, Iowa. She married Herbert C. Fick on August 29, 1935, in Rock Island, Illinois. She and her husband farmed in the Wilton area retiring in 1973. She also worked at the Wilton Community schools in the cafeteria. Herbert preceded her in death in 1982.
Wilma was a member of the United Methodist Church, Wilton; Ladies of the Moose, Muscatine, and the Academy of Friendship. She enjoyed dancing, cards and crocheting. She visited many shut-ins and senior citizens in area nursing homes.
Services were held on Monday, August 7 at the United Methodist Church in Wilton. Rev. Ralph Farmer officiated. Musical selections were provided by organist Kathy Luethye and vocalis, Henry Bentley.
Serving as Casket Bearers were David Evans, Norman Gritton, Leland Gritton, Delbert Whitmer, Herb LaMaack and Mike Daufeldt.
Interment took place at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include three sisters: Gladys Ehlert of West Liberty, Loretta Whitmer of Wilton, Evelyn Evans (and her friend Carl Craig) of Atalissa.
A memorial has been established.
