Muscatine – Karen Ann Pasvogel, 54, of Tipton, died Sunday April 13, 1997 of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Mulberry Avenue and the Iowa Highway 61 Bypass.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Wilton United Methodist Church. The Rev. Paul Pennington will officiate. He will be assisted by Lutheran Homes Chaplain Robert Ahlstrom Pallbearers will be Murray Fitzer, Jerry Marolf, Dave VanWyk, Bob Barrett, Warren Voss and Bob Burkle. Burial will be at the Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Geo. M. Wittich Lewis Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family.

Mrs. Pasvogel was born Feb. 16, 1943, in Muscatine, a daughter of William and Nina L. Forsyth Brendel. She married Merv Pasvogel on March 11, 1972 at Zion Lutheran Church in Muscatine. She was a life resident of the area.

She attended the Wilton United Methodist Church. She was a licensed registered nurse, receiving her education from Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. She was employed as assistant director of nursing at Lutheran Homes.

She was a devoted wife and mother. Survivors include her husband, Merv; two sons, Brad Pasvogel of Wilton, and Matt Pasvogel, at home; one daughter Dana Pasvogel at home, her husband’s father, Ken Pasvogel and his wife Velma of Wilton, her husband’s aunt, Eleanor Pasvogel of Wilton, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Larry Brendel, and one sister, Bev Alton.
