DAVID C. YEATER T1PTON - David Carl Yeater, 75, of California, former Tipton resident, died Tuesday at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City of a sudden illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Sheets and Son Funeral Home in Tipton with Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Burial will be in Inglewood, Calif.

Visitation will bog.in after 7:. 10 o'clock this evening.

A son of David Sylvester and Mary Jane Jenkins Yeater, he was born Feb. I, 1898 at Muscatine. He had resided in Tipton prior to moving to California in 1954.

David Yeater married Elva Armita York on Jan. 29, 1919 at Tipton. He was retired truck line operator.

Survivors include five sons, David of Cedar Rapids, Howard of Bonita Park, Calif., Millard of Manhatten Beach, Calif., Robert of Long Beach, Calif, and Franklin of Highland Park, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Ray (Bertha) .Dunklee of Watsonville, Calif., Mrs. Delbert Heick, Tipton, Mrs. Eugene (Mary) Schroeder, Atalissa; Mrs. Edwin (Dorothy) Barczsz, Torrance, Calif.; stepson, Charles Dillon of Waterloo; 25 grandchildren and in great-grandchildren; four brothers, Charles Yeater, Cedar Rapids, Norman Yeater, Belville, llinois, Floyd Yeater of Enden, Mo. and George. Yeater of Daley City, Calif., three sisters, Ethel Sanders, Libertyville, Illinois, Mabel York, Moline, and Mrs. Paul (Dora) Kenny, Stanwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, one sister and one granddaughter.
