Parry.

Lucinda Nancy Lyons Parry, was born in Connersville, Fayette county, Indiana, April 27, 1846, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Ransom, near West Liberty, Iowa, Friday, March 21, 1919, aged 72 years, 10 months and 24 days.
She was the daughter of William and Sarah Lyons, her father dying in 1854. She was among the early settlers of Iowa, when only nine years old, in 1855, when the railway was built only as far west as Iowa City, thus giving her an early experience in the building up the new western country.
She was united in marriage to John A. Parry April 9, 1872. To this union was born two children, Mrs. Carrie Ransom and Harry C. Parry, who reside in Goshen township. With her mother’s family she first settled in Goshen township, and soon after her marriage she settled on what is now known as “the old homestead,” near the Timberlake cemetery. Their health began to break a few years ago, so that they went to abide for a while with their daughter, Mrs. Harry Ransom, a short distance from the old home. Here her husband passed away.
She suffered a paralytic stroke two years ago, and while given all the care loving hands could perform she continued to fail until the silent messenger came to her relief last Friday morning at 10:30.
Being among the pioneer residents of Goshen township she was greatly interested in the early development of the county. Besides her children she leaves three grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Cope, of Vermillion, Sounth Dakota, and Mrs. Emma Eves, of San Jose, California, and a host of friends.
The funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carrie Ransom, Sunday, March 23, conducted by Rev. H. C. Millice, who used 2 Cor. 5, 1, for the text. The music was furnished by the choir composed of Mrs. Oxley at the piano, and Mrs. Forsythe, Mrs. Coss, C. A. Monroe and G. C. Flater. The pall bearers were her nephews, Elmer, Thomas, Caleb and Abraham McIntire and Henry Parry and Milton Boyle. She was laid to rest by the side of her husband in the Timberlake cemetery.
