Stewart Kline, 79

Services for Stewart W. Kline will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in West Liberty, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in Muscatine.

Mr. Kline, 79, died early Friday at his home after a heart attack.

The Rev. Michael Colonnese will conduct a scripture wake service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the West Liberty Chapel of the Barker Funeral Home, where friend may call beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday. A memorial fund has been established.

Mr. Kline was born Aug. 9, 1910, in Muscatine, son of Wallace and Kathryn Wheatley Kline. He married Mary Jo Hewitt Aug. 31 1956, in Muscatine. He worked for several years in the motor pool transport division of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, retiring in 1981.

He was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Muscatine, along with the Port City and Old Capitol Coin Clubs.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Jennifer Heims of Effingham, Ill.; three sons, Jeffrey of Cedar Rapids, Mark of Iowa City and Kent of North Liberty; one sister, Mrs. Leo Schalk of West Liberty, and five grandchildren.
