Funeral services for John “Doc” Kline, 67, 1246 E. Fifth St., Muscatine, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the George M.Wittich Funeral Home. Rev. Telford Dindinger will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Mr. Kline died at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday at Muscatine General Hospital after an illness of two weeks.

A son of Wallace and Julia Katherine Wheatly Kline, he was born April 15, 1903 at Wapello. He had lived most of his life here.

John O. Kline married Betty Jean Collins July 16, 1945 at West Liberty. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and the Muscatine Power Boat Club.

Survivors are the widow; four sons, Melvin Blake, Cedar Falls, Gene Kelly, Seaton, Ill.; Michael and Scott Kline, both of Muscatine; one daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Jolly Ann) Jackson, Muscatine; one step-son, Thomas Frye, Muscatine; one brother, Stewart Kline, West Liberty; five sisters, Mrs. Winifred Price, West Allis, Wis., Mrs. Gladys Fischer, Davenport, Mrs. Naomi Hendrix, Muscatine, Mrs. Arthur (Leo) Schalk and Mrs. Emma Hixon, both of West Liberty; also three granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents one son, two sisters and one brother.

John Kline Services Saturday

Funeral services for John “Doc” Kline of Muscatine were held Saturday, November 7, at the George Wittich Funeral Home with the Rev. Telford Dindinger officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery.

Mr. Kline died Wednesday at Muscatine General Hospital after a two weeks illness.

He was born at Wapello on April 15, 1903, a son of Wallace and Julia Katherine Wheatly Kline and married Betty Jean Collins on July 16, 1945 at West Liberty.

Survivors include his wife, four sons, a daughter, a step son; a brother, Stewart Kline of West Liberty five sisters among them Mrs. Arthur (Leo) Schalk and Mrs. Emma Hixon of West Liberty; also three granddaughters.

His parents, a son, two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
