Gladys Fisher

Bettendorf – Mrs. Gladys M. Fisher, 81, 139 S. Concord, Davenport, died this morning at the Osteopathic Hospital in Davenport.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Davenport. Father Grubb will officiate. Rosary will be recited at 7 Tuesday evening at the McGinnis Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Gladys Fisher was born Jan. 20, 1897, in Wapello, the daughter of Walter and Julia Wheatley Kline. Before moving to Davenport, she had lived in Muscatine for 62 years.

Her marriage to Cornealious Fisher took place in 1921 in Muscatine. He died in 1930. At one time she had been employed at a button factory in Muscatine.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Betty) Bribriesco of Davenport and Mrs. Elaine Hanson of LeGrande, Oreg.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Stewart Kline of West Liberty; and three sisters, Mrs. Emma Hixon and Mrs. Leo Schalk, both of West Liberty and Mrs. Winifred Price of Rosamond, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband.
