MUSCATINE, Iowa — Vivian Calvert Mills Wonderlich, 89, formerly of West Liberty, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, at the Muscatine Care Center in Muscatine. Services were 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 at Henderson-Barker Funeral Home, West Liberty, Iowa

Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muscatine. A memorial fund has been established.

Mrs. Wonderlich was born Oct. 31, 1919, in West Liberty, the daughter of Vincent and Hattie McGowan Calvert. She married Milburn "Mike" Mills Dec. 7, 1935, in Iowa City, they later divorced. They operated many restaurants in the West Liberty area, including Twin Gables.

She was employed with Mercy Hospital in Iowa City and the Henry County Hospital in Mount Pleasant. She later married Lloyd Wonderlich Dec. 30, 1978, in Mount Pleasant.

She is survived by her seven children, Beverly Freyermuth and husband, Paul of Muscatine; Gaylord Mills and wife, Debra of Muscatine; Darrell Mills and wife, Ann of Lafayette, La.; Cassandra Allen and husband, Wendell of Yarmouth; Christine Schlabach and husband, Duane of Parnell; Sid Mills and wife, Pam of Iowa City; and Van Mills and wife, Diane of Henderson, Nev.; three sisters, Dorothy Frans of Muscatine; Maxine Toussaint and husband, Stan of Dallas, Texas; and Ruth Fitchner and husband, Paul of Illinois; two brothers, Kenneth Calvert and wife, Virginia of Davenport and Cecil Calvert and wife, Maxine of Muscatine; 25 grandchildren, 87 great- grandchildren, and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; three brothers, Lysle, Virgil and Donald; three grandsons and a great-great-granddaughter.
