MARIE GOLDESBERRY

Services: 10 a.m. Monday, June 2, at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Visitation: 3-5 p.m. Sunday, June 1, at the funeral home.

West Liberty, Iowa--
Marie Goldesberry, 92, formerly of Riverside, died Thursday, May 29, 2008, at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty.

Burial will be at the Swank Cemetery, rural Lone Tree. A memorial fund has been established. Online condolences may be made at wwww.hendersonbarkerfunderalhome.com

Mrs. Goldesberry was born June 2, 1915, in Conesville, the daughter of Sam and Margaret Clevenger Etter. She married Asa Goldesberry on Sept 26, 1931, in Rock Island, Ill. The couple had lived in Muscatine and Conesville before moving to Riverside where they farmed for many years. In 2002, Marie moved to West Liberty to live with her son.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and baking.

She is survived by two children, John Goldesberry of West Liberty and Norma Watkinson and husband, Evan, of West Branch; a sister, Margaret Wichers, a brother Sam Etter; eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Asa in 1981, daughter, Barbara Caffery, grandson, Charles Watkinson, three sisters and one brother.
