Funeral rites for Edward F. Hoage were held two o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Bloomington Friends Church with the Rev. Guilford Street in charge, assisted by Charles O. Whitely, pastor of College Avenue Friends Meeting of Oskaloosa, and the Rev. Guy Hunting, pastor of the Friends Church of Muscatine. Mrs. Alvin Carter and Marie and Dorothy Crow sang "Asleep in Jesus," "Does Jesus Care," and "Jesus Savior Pilot Me," accompanied by Mrs. Albert Herlein at the piano. The honorary pallbearers were Jacob Stellrecht, Millard Mills, John McCaffery, U. C. Lake, Harry Fishburn and Jess Fishburn. The acting pallbearers, all grandsons, Paul Hoag, John Hoag, Charles Hoag, Chester Loose, Ralph Bierman and Charlie Bierman. The flowers were in charge of four of the granddaughters, Mrs. Clara Bierman, Mrs. Helen Bos, Mrs. Charlie Bierman and Mrs. Ruth Ziegenhorn. Burial was in the Bloomington Friends cemetery.
