Jacqueline 'Jackie' Stepanek, 73, Muscatine, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, at Manor Care Center, Davenport.

The Rev. Sharon Phillips will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Stepanek was born July 13, 1933, the daughter of Raymond and Mary Jane Middletown Palmer. She married Robert Stepanek on Oct. 22, 1983, in Muscatine.

She served in the U.S. Army.

She was a member of the Eagles, where she served as past president of the Ladies Auxiliary and was also a member of the Moose. She enjoyed going to the Quad City Swing baseball games, playing cards and going to the floating malls.

Survivors include her husband; four sons, Randy Schmidt, Robert N. Stepanek, Jon Allen Stepanek and Richard Soul Stepanek, all of Muscatine; a daughter, Marla Spurgeon and husband Bob of Muscatine; five grandchildren, Kory Hogan, Brandon Haynes, Angela Spurgeon, Christina Spurgeon and J.R. Spurgeon; five great-grandchildren; her mother, Mary Jane Palmer of Davenport; two brothers, Edward Miller and Duane Ruggles, both of Arizona; and three sisters, Jodi Milligan of Florida and Merle Brown and Linda Wise, both of Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her father; a son, Jody Stepanek; and two grandchildren, Matthew and Casey.
