NEW LIBERTY, Iowa -- Leona Steinhagen, 88, New Liberty, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, Terrace Park, Bettendorf.

The Rev. Kurt Larson will officiate the services. Musical selections will be provided by organist Marilyn Luebbe and vocalist Henry Bentley. Casket bearers are Mark Weih, Jim Geigle, Dan Holst, Jeff Burkey, Brian Stegen, Kurt Flathers, David Paustian and Lon Butterbrodt. Honorary casket bearers are K.C. Lingold and Matthew Weih. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport. A memorial fund has been established.

Mrs. Steinhagen was born June 11, 1916, in Blue Grass, the daughter of William and Anna Weise Lafrenz. She married Marvin P.H. Steinhagen Nov. 29, 1931, in Marengo. He preceded her in death Dec. 7, 2002.

She was a member of Risen Christ Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Edythe Weih and husband Dennis of Wilton, Anita Holst of Bettendorf and Kathryn Stegen and husband Bill of Arvada, Colo.; two sons, Marvin Steinhagen of Davenport and Leon Steinhagen of New Liberty; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a granddaughter, Tonya Jo Stegen; three brothers, Harold Lafrenz, Clarence Lafrenz and Lester Lafrenz; and a son-in-law, Bill Holst.
