MUSCATINE, Iowa - Lois M. Heerd, 91, formerly of 221 W Fulliam, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, at Lutheran Home.

Services will be at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Dr. Hal Green of the Wesley United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Homes.

Mrs. Heerd was born on Sept. 22, 1909, in Illinois City, Ill., the daughter of Archie and Minnie Keller Bowser. She married Fred R. Heerd on March 19, 1938, in Aledo, Ill.

She graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College and taught school in Muscatine until she was married.

She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Fred R. Heerd Jr., of Tehachapi, Calif.; two daughters, Mary Lister and her husband, John, of Fremont, Wisc. and Laurel Owens of Sturgis, Michigan; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred, in 1985; one daughter, Ellen E. McGuire, in 1995; and one brother, Carroll D. Bowser.
