WAPELLO, Iowa
Jeffrey Lane Charbonneaux, 51, of rural Wapello, died Thursday afternoon, June 29, 2000, at his home after an extended illness.

Services will be at the First United Methodist Church, Mediapolis. The Rev. John Gaulke will officiate. Burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery, Morning Sun.

Visitation will be at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, Mediapolis.

A memorial fund has been established for benefits of the Izaak Walton League of Wapello and Hospice of Iowa City.

Mr. Charbonneaux was born on Oct. 22, 1948, in Burlington, the son of Richard and Mildred Mack Charbonneaux. He married Lori Jane Hostetter on March 1, 1996, in Burlington.

He graduated from Mediapolis High School in 1966 and from Southeastern Community College in 1968. He was a general contractor, having worked with Bergren Bros., until starting his own business, Hawkeye Contractors.

He was of the Methodist faith, a member of the Izaak Walton League of Wapello and Ducks Unlimited.

Survivors include his wife, Jane; two daughters, Kecia Lamm of Minneapolis, Minn., and Dusty Prottsman of New London; four grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Honings of Peoria, Ill., and Lynn Hillyard of Mediapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Stephen.
