MUSCATINE, Iowa
R. Marguerite Casady, 86, of Muscatine, died Sunday, June 11, 2000, at Unity Hospital in Muscatine.

Graveside services will be held at Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton at a later date. The body has been cremated. The Nichols Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation,
Northampton, Mass.

She was born Feb. 19, 1914, the daughter of Jay Campbell and Lydia Clayton. She married Carl Casady in 1936.

She attended Western Illinois State Teachers College and graduated from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas with a bachelor's of science in education. She taught in the Las Vegas School District until her retirement in 1978.

She received numerous awards and honors in teaching and was named Outstanding Elementary Teacher of America.

She moved to Muscatine in 1992 to be close to her cousin, Donna Ryan.

Survivors include two half sisters, Vivian Roberts of Milton and Patsy Ash of Wapello; a half brother, Bill Campbell of London, Ark. and a step sister, Christine Turner of Douds.
