BENNETT, Iowa -- Dean W. Ballenger, 38, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at Genesis West Hospital in Davenport unexpectedly.

Services are at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. The Rev. Barbara Byorum will officiate. Burial will be at Inland Cemetery in Bennett.

Memorials may be made to the Cedar County Cattleman's Association, Bennett, Iowa 52721.

He was born Sept. 10, 1962, in Davenport, the son of Daryl and Darlene Giebelstein Ballenger.

He graduated from Bennett High School in 1981 and attended Kirkwood Community College.

He was a farmer and part-time truck driver.

He was a member of Cedar County Cattleman's Association. He enjoyed events that promoted beef.

Survivors include his mother, Darlene Ballenger of Bennett; a sister, Nancy Donovan of Bettendorf; and a brother, Larry Ballenger and wife, Lynda, of Bennett.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daryl, in 1988.
No relation
