DEATH TAKES MRS. POLDERS
West Liberty Woman, 72, Dies At Home Early This Morning

WEST LIBERTY- Mrs. Henry Polders, 72, died after a lingering illness at 5 o'clock this morning at her home here. She had been in failing health for some time and had been confined to her bed for the last two months.

She was born June 6, 1866 in Union Valley, northeast of West Liberty, the daughter of Daniel W. and Sarah Worrall Gifford who were early settlers from Ohio.

She had lived in this vicinity all her life, being an early graduate of West Liberty high school. Later she attended the academy at Tipton where she studied art. She taught in rural schools and traveled extensively.

On August 18, 1902 she married Mr. Henry Polders of West Liberty. She was active in civic work, was a charter member of the Fortnightly Literary society and a member of the P.E.O. Mrs. Polders was a member of the Church of Christ and of the missionary society of that church.

She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Byron E. Farwell of New York, and Mrs. Stanley A. Rouse of Pasedena, Calif., all of whom had been with her since she was confined to bed.

Funeral services will be held in the family home at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Frank W. Sutton officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Ridge cemetery. The remains are at the S.C. Snider funeral home.
