MT. PLEASANT, Iowa
Idell Hamill of Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2000 at Mercer Hospital in Iowa City.

Visitation will be held at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant.

Services will be at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Roger Farmer of Sugar Creek Church officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery.

She was born Feb. 14, 1920, to Harlan and Edna Raines Hunter in New London. She graduated from New London High School in 1937.

She married Edward G. Driskell in 1940 and moved to Mt. Pleasant. They were married for 18 years. On Oct. 5, 1961, she married Robert J. Hamill. He preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 1988.

She worked at the Golve Factory in New London. She was also employed at the Staats Manufacturers for 10 years. Idell and Robert owned and operated the Mt. Pleasant Dairy Queen until their retirement in 1982.

She enjoyed family get-togethers, holidays, car rides and shopping. She liked to work in her flowerbeds and watch Iowa Hawkeye basketball.

She is survived by two sons; Mark Hamill of Mt. Pleasant, and Larry (and Reita) Driskell of Muscatine; one daughter, Sonja (and son-in-law Brad) Roth of Wayland; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and a sister Virginia Williams.
