MUSCATINE, Iowa
Gloria E. Barbre, 76, of Muscatine, formerly of San Francisco, Calif., died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at the Lutheran Home Care Facility in Muscatine.

There will be no public services or visitation, the body was cremated as was her wish. Private burial and graveside services will be held at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, Ill. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service in Davenport is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Barbre was born Feb. 15, 1924, in Taylorville, Ill., the daughter of Amon and Ada Davison Barbre.

She was a graduate of the University of Illinois in Champaign where she received her bachelor's in teaching. She taught school, however, spent most of her career as a bookkeeper at Roos-Atkins, a large department store in San Francisco.

Survivors include many cousins, nieces and nephews.
