BURLINGTON, Iowa
Doris Aringdale, 75, Burlington, formerly of Columbus Junction, died Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at Burlington Care Center.

Service will be at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, Columbus Junction. The Rev. Cathy Whitlatch will officiate. Casket bearers are Gayle Williams, Kent Williams, Myron Williams, Dick Lohse, Dell Reighard and Donnie Snavely. Burial will be at Columbus City Cemetery. After the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held at Spring Run United Methodist Church, rural Columbus Junction.

Visitation will be at the Lunning Chapel, 2620 Mount Pleasant St., Burlington;
Memorials may be directed to the Burlington Hospice.

Miss Aringdale was born Sept. 25, 1930, in Louisa County, the daughter of Frank Harris and Eunice Dorothy Metzger Aringdale.

She was a graduate of Columbus Community High School and a member of Spring Run United Methodist Church.

She lived on the family farm until moving to Mount Pleasant in 1968 where she worked as a telephone operator for more than 20 years until retiring to Mount Pleasant in 1990. She enjoyed embroidering, gardening and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.

Survivors include a brother, Robert Aringdale and wife Mary of Burlington; a sister, Evelyn Williams and husband Rex of Birmingham, Iowa; and many cousins, including Helen Aringdale of Columbus Junction.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Arlene Reighard.
