Sharon R. Borchert, 71, of Muscatine, died Sunday, March 22, 2009, at Genesis Hospital, West Campus. A graveside service will be held on at Greenwood Cemetery.

The Reverend Bruce Martin of Calvary Church will officiate the service. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Muscatine Humane Society.

The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Sharon was born on February 13, 1938, in Muscatine, the daughter of George and Clara Stalkfleet Whisler.

She worked as a press operator at Thatcher Plastics for 25 years.

She enjoyed quilting and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior.

Survivors include one son, Steve Borchert of Muscatine; one daughter Victoria Borchert of Muscatine; one granddaughter Amber Ward of Bettendorf; two sisters Maurine Hahn of Moscow, and Sandy Dipple of Muscatine.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
