MUSCATINE - Harry Hindahl, 76, of Muscatine, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. He had Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease the past six years. He was cared for by his daughter and granddaughter, Sherry and Shannon in their home. Services will be at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. Burial will be at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nick Hindahl, Stephen Hindahl, Brad Posey, Larry Snyder, Rodger Howell, Dixie Howell, Dave Perely. Honorary bearers will be Jack Roelle, Robert Diercks and Gary Posey. Visitation will be at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Hearing Impaired, the Humane Society and the Jesus Mission Church of Muscatine. Mr. Hindahl was born on Feb. 2, 1923, in Cotter, the son of Harry and Cecile Fish Hindahl Sr. He married Elaine A. Elder on May 14, 1943, in Muscatine. He attended the Jesus Mission Church. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Elks Lodge. He worked at Mapco Auto Parts for 23 years and Brown and Bigelow, an advertising firm, as a sales representative. He retired from Muscatine City Transit in 1991. Survivors include a son, Stephen R. Hindahl of Muscatine; a daughter, Sherry A. Hindahl of Muscatine; four grandchildren, Terri Phillips, Shannon Posey, Brad Posey and Nicholas Hindahl; five great-grandchildren, Ky, Hannah and Hailey Kardux, and Levi Phillips and Allie Posey; a brother, Raymond Hindahl. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife in 1989.
