Bonnie Ahnert, 69, Peru, died March 8, 2006, at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru.

Services were held at New Life United Methodist Church, Mexico, Ind. The Rev. Robert Baszner officiated. Burial was at Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Cass County, Ind.

Memorials may be made to New Life United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Ahnert was born Aug. 9, 1936, in Guthrie, Minn., the daughter of Fred J. and Esther Guise Bryan. She married Leonard Ahnert on July 25, 1954.

She was a longtime employee of Wabash Valley Bank, later First of America Bank and now National City Bank. She was a member of New Life United Methodist Church, Mexico, Ind.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Kathleen M. Siler and husband Randy of Muscatine, Iowa; three sons, Leonard Ahnert Jr. and wife Pam of Mexico, Robert E. Ahnert and wife Kammie of Kokomo, Ind., and William Ahnert of Peru; 11 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Rebecca, Laura, Mitchell, Selina, William Jr., Dustin, Jeremy, Kasey, Kenzi and Kolby; a great-grandson, Xadrian; a brother, Charles Bryan of Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Beverly Bolton of Oregon and Virginia of Minnesota; and a stepsister, Mary Ellen Chamberlain of Washington state.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her stepmother, Edna Bryan.
