DURANT, Iowa -- Raymond H. Larson, 84, of Durant died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at Genesis Medical Center East Campus in Davenport.

Services are at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Durant. The Rev. David Lawson will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist, Mabyn Fox and vocalist, Linda Landhuis. Burial will be at the Durant Cemetery in Durant.

Visitations are today, at Bentley Funeral Homes in Durant and June 8, one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be made to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and to the E.A. Motto Renal Dialysis Unit at Genesis Medical Center.

Mr. Larson was born Aug. 20, 1916, in Salina, to Henry and Mabel Peterson Larson. He married Alberta D. Berry on April 4, 1943, in Fairfield. She preceded him in death March 11, 2001.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He owned and operated Larson Insurance Agency in Durant since 1946, retiring 1983.

He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and was the treasurer of the Durant Salvation Army and the Durant American Legion.

Survivors include a son, Ronald Larson and his wife, Karen, of Conway, Ariz.; a sister, Elsie Mae Evans and her husband, Norvel, of Fairfield; two granddaughters, Sarah and Signe Larson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Randy Larson.
