John Stewart. 82, route 1, Muscatine Drury Township,
died at 11:30 p.m. Friday at Muscatine General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Providence Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Drury-Reynoolds cemetery under the direction of the George M.
Wiltich Funeral Home. Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral
home. A son of Matthew and Mary Deakman Stewart, he was born May 6, 1888 in Drury
Township, IL, where he was a life resident.
John Stewart married the former Helen Baer. Jan. 1, 1944. He was a member of
Providence Baptist Church. He had been a farmer.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Helen Stewart; one foster daughter. Mrs. Irwin (Roberta) Cunningham, Muscatine; two sisters. Mrs. Monroe (Verna) Ziegenhorn and Mrs. Dorsey (Agnes) Gorham.
both of Drury Township; and seven grandchildren. He is preceded in death by
his parents, two sisters and three brothers.
