John Freese, 68, Succumbs After Long Illness
John Henry Freese, 63, died at 12:40 a.m., today at Bellevue hospital following an extended
illness. His home was at 1013 Grandview avenue.
Mr. Freeze was born on Sept. 4, 1880, in Germany, the son of Henry Christian and Magdalena
Kahl Fresse. He had lived here since 1886. Mr. Freese married Bertha Oest on Oct. 14, 1903,
in Muscatine. He was a member of Zion Lutheran church and of Muscatine Aerie No. 815, Fraternal
Order of Eagles.
Surviving are two .sons. Carl Henry and Albert August Freese,
both of Muscatine; two daughters Mrs. William O'Brien and Mrs Archie Brewer, also of this city
three brothers, William F., Carl F., and Harry F. Freeze, Muscatine;
10 great grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. His
parents, wife and three brothers
preceded him in death.
The body is at the George M
Wittich Funeral home and will remain there until services which
will be conduced at 2 p.m. at the funeral chapel Wednesday
and at 2:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church
interment will be Greenwood cemetery.
