ORVILLE FICK
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Orville E. Fick, 86, of Muscatine, died Thursday, August 7, 2008, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.Funeral Service will be at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Paul Ostrem of the Zion Lutheran church will officiate the service. Casket bearers will be Joe Imhoff, Tim Imhoff, Andy Trosen, Jerry Burmeister, Jerry Reimers, and David Baugher. Honorary bearers will be Richard Trader, Bob Paxton, Fred Brown Jr., Bill Hucker, Ivan Kranz, Dan Bean, and Nevin Birkhofer. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at Zion Lutheran Church following the committal service.
Memorials may be made to the Orville Fick Memorial Fund in care of Dorothy Fick.
Orville was born on June 17, 1922, in Muscatine County, the son of Ernest and Effie Houvenagle Fick. He was first married to Sylvia Idle; she preceded on July 8, 1987. He then married Anita Sundin.
He farmed all his life.
He was a member of Moose Lodge #388 and of the Lutheran faith.
He bowled for many years. He loved playing euchre, farming, and Belgian draft horses.
Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Fick of Muscatine; and one sister Irene Moseley of Muscatine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Mary Fick, three sisters Viola Wedekind, Florence Jensen, and Doris Fick.
