MUSCATINE, Iowa - Irene E. Moseley, 88, of Muscatine, died Sunday, December 21, 2008, at the Lutheran Homes in Muscatine.

Funeral Service will be at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Rev. Vickie Pedersen will officiate the services. Casketbearers will be Fred Anderson, Cameron Strayhall, James Reimers, Kenneth Arnold, Eric Anderson and David Baugher. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muscatine.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society in memory of Irene.

Irene was born on February 20, 1920, in Muscatine County, the daughter of Ernest and Effie E. Houvengle Fick. She married Edward T. Reimers on January 28, 1939, in Wilton. Following Edward’s death, she married, Lyle E. Moseley on July 28, 1978, in Rock Island, Illinois.

She worked as a baker at the Fransiscan Hospital in Rock Island. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rock Island and enjoyed playing cards, gardening, house plants and listening to Lawrence Welk.

She will be deeply missed by her children, Janet M. Anderson and husband, Fred, of Auburn, Pennsylvania, and Jerry L. Reimers and wife, Patricia, of Rock Island, Illinois; three grandchildren, Eric Anderson of Branchburg, New Jersey, James Reimers of Milan, Illinois, and Michele Williams of Little Silver, New Jersey; seven great-grandchildren, Cameron Strayhall, Jack and Chase Anderson, Mackenzie and Cade Reimers and Reilly and Colin Williams.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, Edward and Lyle; a granddaughter, Connie Strayhall; a brother, Orville Fick and three sisters, Doris Fick, Viola Wedekind and Florence Jensen.
