WALCOTT, Iowa - Florence L. Jensen, 81, of Walcott, died Sunday, June 3, 2007, at Kahl Home in Davenport.The Rev. Charles Mills will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by Anita Sundin and Rick Sundin, Jr.
Serving as pallbearers are Corey Hagen, Curtis Hagen, Joshua Hagen, Gabriel Hagen, Justin Hagen, Dylan Hagen, Chase Hagen, Jerry Reimers and James Reimers.
Internment will take place at the Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Blue Grass Presbyterian Church, the Walcott Senior Citizens or the Walcott Fire Department.
Mrs. Jensen was born July 19, 1925, to Ernest and Effie (Houvenagle) Fick in Muscatine County.
She married Elvin C. Jensen Sept. 29, 1943, in New Era. He preceded her in death April 5, 2007.
She farmed with her husband for 25 years in Scott County, retiring in 1980.
Together they owned and operated Jensen's Cafe in Rock Island in the1940s.
She was a member of the Walcott Senior Citizens. She loved helping people and was recognized by the State of Iowa in 2001 for her volunteer efforts.
Above all, she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Sharyl and her husband, Mark Poppe, of Davenport; her son-in-law, David Baugher of Davenport; three grandchildren, Kevin Baugher, Kara Poppe and Steven Poppe; her sister, Irene Moseley of Muscatine; and her brother, Orville Fick of Muscatine.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Karen Baugher; and her sisters, Viola Wedekind and Doris Fick.
