VIOLA SHOEMAKER
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Viola Marie Shoemaker, 70, of Muscatine, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at her home.Funeral Service will be at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, 1931 Houser Street. Reverend Bruce Martin of Calvary Church will officiate. Casket bearers will be Dusty Kieser, Ronnie Munson, Doug Munson, Stewart Perkins, Tony Alhf, and Tim Ahlf. Burial will be in Parsons Cemetery, rural Louisa County.
Viola was born on April 6, 1938, in Iowa City, the daughter of Phillip and Roma Lane Munson. Her first marriage was to Harold Garrett. She later married Jim Shoemaker.
She enjoyed reading, watching NASCAR racing and all other sports.
Survivors include three sons, Richard Garrett and wife, Vicki, of Muscatine, Mike Garrett of Davenport, and Adam Shoemaker of Muscatine; two daughters, Nancy Garcia and husband, Abe, of Canute, Oklahoma, and Amy Shoemaker of Moscow; four grandchildren, Diana Yacks, Johnny Miller, Cody Garrett and Kendra Garrett; two brothers, Ervin Munson and wife, Rosie, of Missouri, and Leo Munson of Muscatine; two sisters, Anna Perkins of Muscatine, and Jeannie Ahlf and husband, Kenny, of Letts; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Phyllis Munson Kieser, and one brother, Harrison Munson.
