MUSCATINE, Iowa - Carol Mae Burkamper, 69, formerly of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

Funeral Service will be Monday, June 23, 2008, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the New Hope United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Burkamper was born on October 15, 1938, in Muscatine, the daughter of Herbert and Dorothy Mae Irwin Spring. She married David L. Burkamper on February 28, 1961, in St. Louis, Missouri.

She was employed at Kent Feeds since 1965 as a laboratory supervisor, she was also employed at Grain Processing Corp. for four years, after retirement she moved to Boise, Idaho.

She attended New Hope United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, watching movies and reading, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She will be deeply missed by two daughters, Darla Solorzano and husband, Edward, and Shea Webster and husband, John, all of Boise, Idaho; two sons, Darrin Burkamper and wife, Amber, of Morris, Illinois, and Courter Burkamper and wife, Jennifer, of Boone; four grandchildren, Landon Phillips, David Burkamper, Jaelynn Burkamper and Caden Burkamper; her father, Herbert Spring of Cocoa Beach, Florida; three sisters, Grace Steckman and husband, James, and Jo Ann Ralls, all of Muscatine, and Sherry Thomas of Boise, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1977, her mother, and step-father.
