MRS. FREESE DIES AT ADVANCED AGE

AFTER NINE WEEKS' ILLNESS, AGED WOMAN SUCCUMBS

Came to Muscatine Sixteeen years Ago From Germany - Member of German Lutheran Church

Following an illness of about nine weeks, Mrs Dorothea Freese passed away early this morning at her home at 1125 Grandview avenue. Her death was due to senility. On September 20, Mrs. Freese celebrated the 81st anniversary of her birthday and at that time was enjoying excellent health, considering her advanced age. About two months ago she was taken ill and since that time had been gradually failing. Her death will be regretted by a great number of friends whom she gathered about her during her residence in Muscatine. Mrs. Freese spent the greater part of her life in Germany. It was there that she married and later mourned her husband's death. Following the demise of Hans Freese, however, the widow came to Muscatine to make her home with her children here. She had resided in the city for sixteen years and during that time had cultivated the acquaintance and won the love and esteem of a large host of friends. She was a member of the German Lutheran church. Her loss will be keenly felt by her children and grandchildren in this city. She is survived by four sons and two daughters who are: John, Henry, August and Fred of this city, Mrs. Frank (Anna) Imhoff, residing west of town and Lena Peiper, still located in Germany.

No funeral arrangements have been made as yet.
