JOHN FREESE, 84, RESIDENT HERE 59 YEARS, DIES

John Freese, who had attained the age of 84 years, died at Hershey hospital at 11:25 pm Thursday after a year's illness with complications. His residence was at 1200 1/2 East Fourth street.

He was born in Germany on Feb. 3, 1859, the son of Henry Freese and Dorethia Sieck Freese and had resided here for the past 59 years. He married Magdalena Hinz here on June 29, 1887. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Freese was of the Lutheran faith.

Survivors are two sons, Hanz Freese of Tipton and Fritz Freese of Rock Island, Ill., a step-son, John Leuthye of Wilton; three daughters, Mrs. Jackson (Dora) Moomey of Muscatine, Mrs. G.E. (Mamie) Reedy of Wilton and Mrs. Fritz (Minnie) Kuehl of Moscow; 45 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his wife, four brothers, two sisters, three daughters and one son.

The body is at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral home and rites will be held there at 2 pm Sunday. Burial will be in the Moscow cemetery.
