MUSCATINE, Iowa - Maxine Leggins Steinmeyer, 83, formerly of West Liberty, died Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at Carrington Place in Muscatine.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008, at the First Church United, 1100 N. Calhoun, West Liberty. Burial will be at the North Prairie Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established.

The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is in charge of arrangements.

She was born October 9, 1924, in Atalissa, the daughter of Neely and Irene Tolin Morrison. She married Kenneth Leggins on May 6, 1945, in Phoenix City, Ala. He died in 1981. The couple lived in West Liberty most of their lives. She later married Steve Steinmeyer on October 25, 1993, in Muscatine. He died in December 1997.She was employed at Louis Rich and worked as a waitress at Sky King, the Downtowner and retired in 1992 from the West Liberty Country Club. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Muscatine.

She is survived by two daughters, Paddy (Michael) Druhl of Belmond and Bobbie Jo (Robert) Donohoe of West Branch; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and a sister, Katherine Cox of Florida. She was preceded in death by her husbands, a brother and a sister.
