ERNEST CRIGER FUNERAL RITES SET FOR FRIDAY

Funeral services for Ernest A. Criger, 56, of 1282 East Second Street, who died suddenly at 2:05 pm Wednesday at the Muscatine high bridge toll house will be held Friday. Rites will be at 3:30 pm at the Geo. M. Wittich Funeral home where the body is remaining. Dr. H.C. Schneider of the First Presbyterian Church will be in charge and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

The son of Franklin J. and Lydia Jane Harshbarger Criger, he was born April 7, 1889 at Peoria, Ill. and had been a resident here for 25 years. He married Hazel Adams here on Jan. 3, 1912. Mr. Criger, who was a carpenter by trade, had been employed as attendant at the bridge for the past year. He was a member of Iowa lodge No. 2, A.F. & A.M.

Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Smalley, of Muscatine; two brothers, Hugh F. Criger of the United States Army air forces in England and Guy N. Criger of Davenport; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Solomon of Conesville and Miss Fern Criger of Rock Island, Ill., and two grandchildren, Judith Ann and Gene William Smalley. His parents, one sister, and two brothers preceded him.
