Columbus Junction – The funeral services of Mrs. George Chown, 85, will be held at the home four miles north of Columbus Junction, at 1:30 Friday afternoon, Dec 6, and will be conducted by the Rev. Harold C. Irwin. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery at Muscatine.
Miss Mary Myers was born in Muscatine, September 15, 1855, and was a daughter of Henry and Mary Myers. She died at 5:30 Tuesday afternoon. She lived at Muscatine until seven years ago when she moved to Lake township in Muscatine county.
She has lived on the same farm in Oakland township 60 years having come there when she was united in marriage October 16, 1878 to George Chown and having resided but two years during this time at the Lake township former home. Mr. Chown died seven years ago.
Surviving are five daughters, Misses Bessie and Minnie Chown, at home; Mrs. Mae McElhinney, of Waterloo; Mrs. Alice Greene and Mrs. Edith Littrell, of Columbus Junction community, eleven grand-children, two brothers, Lewis and William Myers of Audubon and two sister, Mrs. Lizzie and Mrs. Alice Chown, of Nichols.
